Nickel 200 Fasteners

Nickel is a non-alloyed pure metal that is mined in its unaltered form. In its native condition, nickel is a silvery-white metal. A ductile and hard metal, nickel. Because it resists corrosion at high temperatures, nickel, like many other metals, is combined with other metals to make very powerful alloys. Due to its various advantageous properties, nickel is utilized to create numerous alloys. In the alloy, nickel has a significant function. Natural metal can be obtained and is also durable. Carbon makes up about 0.02 percent of the composition of nickel.

Nickels are available in many different forms, including bars, wires, sheets, plates, coils, and more. Additionally, there are two grades of nickel: Nickel 200 and Nickel 201. Hastelloy, Corten Steel, Stainless Steel, Cupro-Nickel, and other alloys all include nickel.

Benefits of Nickel 200 Fasteners

1. Extremely resistant to different reducing substances

2. Excellent caustic alkali resistance

3. Commonly utilized while handling caustic soda

4. Strong thermoelectrical, electrical, and magnetostrictive characteristics

5. Tolerance to alkaline and neutral salt solutions

6. Excellent dry fluorine resistance

7. High conductivity of electricity

8. Excellent resistance to corrosion in both distilled and untreated waters

9. Provides some protection against sulfuric and hydrochloric acids at low temperatures and concentrations.

The carbon content in Nickel 200 Fasteners 200 is 0.15 percent, compared to 0.02 percent in 201. Both heat treatment and cold working can be used to create grade 200. The required range for heat treatment is 1200°F to 2250°F. The ideal temperature range for annealing is between 1300°F and 1600°F. Because it affects the alloy’s characteristics, heat treating and cold treating Nickel 200 should be done with caution. Products made from nickel 200 have a tensile strength of 60-85 ksi, yield strength of 15-45 ksi, and an elongation of 55-35 percent. Between forty-five and eighty percent of the material is hard. These characteristics apply to round bars alone.
