1 teaspoons turmeric


In a large pot or Dutch oven, bring the vinegar, water, salt, and sugar to a boil over high heat. Add the onion and garlic and simmer for 10 minutes to soften. Remove from heat and let cool. In a small bowl, combine the white vinegar, vegetable oil, and sugar. Pour the mixture over the cooled vegetables and stir well. Cover and refrigerate for 4 days or up to 1 week. After
